Cynthia Wade | Director
Cynthia Wade is a DGA film director based in Los Angeles. Her documentaries include THE FLAG MAKERS (working title, NatGeo), GRIT (POV/PBS), GENERATION STARTUP (Netflix), LIVING THE LEGACY (Sundance Channel), GROWING HOPE AGAINST HUNGER (Sesame Street Prime Time Special, Emmy Winner), MONDAYS AT RACINE (Oscar nominee, HBO), FREEHELD (Oscar winner, HBO), BORN SWEET (Oscar shortlist, 16 festival awards), SHELTER DOGS (HBO) and GRIST FOR THE MILL (Cinemax).
She directs television commercials featuring real people (from Kellogg’s Mini Wheats to Dove Real Beauty) and is represented by Honor Society (www.honorsociety.tv).
SPROUTLAND is her first fiction film.
Cynthia holds a BA cum laude from Smith College and an MA in Documentary Film from Stanford University. She has won over 60 film awards.
Matthew Syrett | Producer
Matthew Syrett is a producer who has produced the Academy Award-winning documentary FREEHELD for HBO, and GRIT for PBS. He has previously worked as a VP/Director at Grey Advertising, the Senior Product Manager of IMDBPro, and the VP of Product for Rakuten USA. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his family.
Boaz Freund | DP
Boaz Freund is an award winning Director of Photography based in New York City. A versatile visual storyteller, Freund's work has imbued a wide array of films and commercials, with rich narrative attention, character, style and emotion. Born and raised in Israel, Freund's work routinely takes him around the world, as he remains hungry to tell great stories from anywhere and in any language through the universal language of image making.
Nannina Gilder | Screenwriter
Nannina Gilder is a screenwriter and historian from Tyringham, Massachusetts. Her short film Bonding was part of the 2011 Made in the Berkshires Festival, and her play The Curious Abduction of Mona Lisa was performed at Ventfort Hall in Lenox, MA in 2013. She has guested on Citizen Dame Pod and The EscapeGoat Podcast talking about film, screenwriting, and her love of women directors before 1960. She is currently collaborating with Cynthia Wade on a feature script about the Shakers, a celibate, utopian community that reached its peak in 19th century America.
Fiona Otway | Editor
Fiona Otway has been editing for over 20 years, weaving human complexity through nuanced, emotionally resonant stories. Her work has received numerous awards, including a ‘Best Editing’ award and a ‘Grand Jury Prize’ from Sundance Film Festival, a DuPont Award, a Grierson Award, and several Academy Award nominations.
